Eligibility Requirements
Technologist must complete an application and enclose a letter of recommendation
by supervising physician attesting that the technologist is not performing
invasive (needle) examinations and the supervising physician is responsible
for interpreting the data.
It is recommended that the technologist has successfully completed a
two-year college program in END technology or an equivalent of two years
of college level classes in math, basic biology, anatomy, physiology and
English. It is recommended that one have at least six months of experience
involving both practical training in Nerve Conduction Studies and theory
directly related to Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). It is recommended
that this training involve both hands on and theory directly relating
to performing NCS, under the direction of either an AAEM board physician
or an R. NCS.T.

All applications will be reviewed by the AAET National
Examination Committee
Application packets will be administered by the National
Examination Committee upon receipt of payment.
Written exam is administered by the Professional Testing
Corporation twice yearly in 35 different locations. One must contact them
directly for the application 212-356-0660 or download from PTCNY.com.
One must pass the written before being eligible to sit for the oral.
